How do I download font files?

Follow the instructions for Macintosh or Windows below:

Mac Users

  1. Click on a preview.

  2. To the right of "Mac Type 1 font in BinHex Stuffit archive" or "Mac TrueType font in BinHex Stuffit archive," click Download. (Do NOT click the Add to cart link unless you want to put the item in your shopping cart and download it later. If you want to use the shopping cart, see How do I download shopping cart items?)

NOTE: If you don't know which font format you should choose, we recommend PostScript ("Mac Type 1 Font") -- it is required by the more complex graphic applications, most service bureaus, and most printing facilities.

  3. If prompted, choose Save it to disk from the pop-up window that appears.

  4. If prompted, choose a location for your file in the Save As window that appears and click Save. TIP: Saving the file to your desktop makes it easier to find later.

  5. In most cases, Netscape or Explorer will automatically un-Stuff the file as it is downloaded to a "clipart" folder. If it does not, see How do I extract font files?

You will need to install your fonts before you can use them. See How do I install Macintosh fonts? for further instructions.

Windows Users

  1. Click on a preview.

  2. To the right of "Windows Type 1 font in ZIP archive" or "Windows TrueType font in ZIP archive," click Download. (Do NOT click the Add to cart link unless you want to put the item in your shopping cart and download it later. If you want to use the shopping cart, see How do I download shopping cart items?)

NOTE: If you don't know which font format you should choose and you have not been instructed to use PostScript ("Windows Type 1 Font in ZIP Archive"), we recommend that you select TrueType ("Windows TrueType Font in ZIP Archive"). See Which font format should I choose: PostScript Type 1 or TrueType? for further details.

  3. If prompted, choose Save File from the pop-up window that appears.

  4. If prompted, choose a location for your file in the "Save As" window that appears and click Save. TIP: Saving the file to your desktop makes it easier to find later.

  5. If WinZip or another Zip utility opens, use it to extract your file and choose a file location (see your Zip utility's help documentation if you do not know how to do this).

You will need to un-Zip the font file (if you haven't already) and install your fonts before you can use them. See How do I extract font files, then How do I install Windows fonts? for further instructions.
