Why are there circular patterns in my printout? Moire patterns may appear in your printout when the dpi of a scaled raster image is not an even multiple of your laser or inkjet printer's dpi. This occurs almost excusively with 300 dpi and 600 dpi laser printers. If you are using a laser printer to create original artwork, make sure your image's resolution is set to an even number (150 dpi, 100 dpi, 600 dpi), not an odd number (341 dpi, 233 dpi). If the final output is done on typesetting equipment, the moire patterns will disappear.
