The photo I want to download is only 72 dpi.
An image's dpi is relative to its size. To see if this photo's resolution is as high as you need it to be, try scaling it:

  1. Download the image and open it in your image editor.

  2. Open your application's Scale or Image Size menu item.

  3. Make sure the "Resample" option is NOT checked. (Very important!)

  4. Reset the resolution to the desired dpi (144 dpi should be ample for most uses).

  5. Scale the image.

If the image is too small to use once you have rescaled it, try resampling it:

  1. Close the image without saving it, then reopen it to get back to the "as-downloaded" version.

  2. Open your application's Scale or Image Size menu item.

  3. Check the "Resample" option and scale the image.

NOTE: For specific instructions on resizing and resampling images, see your software's help documentation.
