The America Online (AOL) browser may compress the ClipArt.com images you download, giving them an ".art" suffix to differentiate them from non-image files. Unfortunately, your application will probably not recognize the ".art" extension; if it does not, it will not be able to open your image.
If your files download with the ".art" suffix and your program does not recognize it, you can do one of two things: use a different browser, or disable AOL's image compression function.
Using a Different Browser
If you download image files with Netscape, Explorer, Opera, or any other non-AOL browser, the problem will not occur.
Disabling AOL's Image Compression Function
Different versions may have slightly different instructions. See AOL's help documentation for details.
Click the Settings button on the icon bar.
On the left-hand column of the screen that appears, select Internet Properties.
Click the Web Graphics option.
Select Never Compress Graphics.
Log out of AOL.
When you log in to AOL again, AOL's compression function will be turned off.
