Boolean Search

A keyword search in which logical operators are used to force the search engine to include or exclude certain words.

In a ClipArt.com Boolean search, the "include" and "exclude" operators are represented by the plus sign (+) and minus sign (-), respectively. For instance, the keywords +pirate +ship -treasure will tell the search engine to find any image that contains both a pirate AND a ship, but no treasure.
